    Hi Sunnie…
I just had to tell you how much I enjoyed looked through your website this morning. I was in bad need of something that was peaceful and homey…..and your description of you place there in Vermont did the trick. I suffer from an illness that keeps me close to home, but stay busy with my writing and drawing…..but I have to admit, sometimes it gets to me. So I’m very thankful that I found your site.

I was actually looking through folkart sites, that would give me some ideas for my drawing and painting. But I’m glad to say you have me hooked on the idea of learning a new craft. I have always wanted to visit Vermont……grew up in the south, and ended up in Ky to be close to my grown children. I hope someday I can make it up that way…especially during the winter months with the snow.

The description of your farm could have been in one of my dreams. You do incredible work with your hands and your words.

Thank you for your peaceful site…has done wonders for me today.

  2. Hello Cindylee:

Thank you so much for visiting!! : ) We love the peaceful life that we lead…and hope that we can continue to enjoy Vermont for many years to come. I am glad you found a quiet place to visit for awhile.

Although we don’t have illnesses that keep us close to home, we really prefer being here ! We do go out occasionally and visit sometimes with family who live close…but all of our children and grandchildren live on the West coast or are traveling or in Iraq or??? …so we don’t see them often. That is the only downside of our life here…that we can’t really celebrate holidays with our immediate families!

But we all need to be where we are happiest or where the practical situations of life take us…so we visit the West every couple of years and are blessed by being able to keep in touch with family through email and the internet!!! : )

I have been rug hooking since 2005 and find it one of the most satisfying art/crafts I have ever done. Only the frame, the backing, the hook and the wool strips are needed…and we can either hook the patterns that are “out there” (LOL) or design our own. As an artist yourself, you might enjoy the “painting in wool” that we do!!! : )

Also, we are all inspired by other’s work, even if it is not in the same area, so I also enjoy visiting the Blogs and websites of those on my Bloglist and more.

I hope you will visit again!! Warm Regards, Sunnie : )

Hi Sunnie, I was wondering if the Homeplace Primitive pattern is one you sell, I’d love to hook this piece. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Patricia

  4. Hi Patricia:

No, the Homeplace Primitive is a copyrighted one-of-a-kind rug commissioned for the owner of the Homeplace Bed and Breakfast here in Vermont. It is a memory rug of all her wonderful animals and the design belongs to her! : )

If you have a farm or pets that you would like to hook, one of the designers and/or teachers on “The Welcome Mat” or “Rug Hooking Daily” could help you with a pattern, I am sure!!!

Thank you for visiting and I am so happy you like the rug. the owner loved it and two of her animals have died since the rug was hooked, so she has the hooked memory!

    Happy Hooking! Sunnie : )
